Well Kellogg’s seems to have exhausted all the possibilities and stuck with the, “young busy woman who wants to be skinny in order to find a man, but wants to be told she’s being healthy” concept.

I’ve never sold cereal, but I think it would be hard only because you have to convince a client whose been around forever and seen it all, to do something different. Clients that have been around forever, like to stick to things they know work because they are too tiered swatting of the hungry competitors to “try something new”. If the “new” doesn’t work, they are fucked because one of their competitors will eagerly gobble up their market share. I understand that, I probably wouldn’t light candles around piles of money either … just in case I walk into the candle and set my money on fire.
You know what I think would be a great way to sell cereal to adults? Take them back to their childhood. Screw the health benefits! Give them back that sense of bliss and carelessness they had as kids. Remember mornings as a kid? Man they were AMAZING! You were excited about the day before you. All those possibilities and adventures ahead. Hell school was fun. Give that consumers in a box, that feeling for 10 minutes in the morning and you are golden.

Is this a real commercial? It looks like it could be consumer generated type of commercial. Not very polished at all!!
Oh yes it is a real commercial. The recording quality is really bad, but I could not find a better one.
I wonder why adults don’t get to find something cool in their cereal. Fuck imagine if you had a Cereal called Retr O’s and with every box you got to enjoy some random bullshit from the 80’s? I’d buy it. Then again, in regards to this post I’m a bit off since I have a penis and I eat the sugariest cereals known to humankind.
