Reality #16: Deadlines rule your life
Your project deadlines will dictate the hours you work. You will work whatever hours are necessary to get the project out on time – coming in early, working over lunch, staying late and working over the weekend. But, once your deadline is over …. you can come in late, take a 2 hour lunch or leave early. And no one will say a thing because you busted your ass to meet your deadline. You sir/madame are a “team player” and deserve to slack off a bit.

I love your blog. I am about to be a sophmore in college and I have wanted to be in advertising since my senior year. This is mostly due to my excess amounts of imagination and creativity. I was going to be a musician. I decided advertising was better. You’ve provided me with so much information that, unlike all the college sites and such, is actually useful to me. You have the job I one day want to have. Thank you so much for sharing. Feel free to email me sometime with hints or anything. I know your probably busy tho. Nevertheless I will keep reading your blog.
(I think Ive learned more from you than any of my college professors about this profession) lol

@ Brian – that is quite funny actually.
@ Tim Klee – thank you that is the sweetest thing anyone has ever said to me. Part of the reason I started the blog was to offer aspiring advertising workers, insight into what it is REALLY like to work into Advertising. Although I’m not sure if I should be ANY ONE’s role model.
